Hi Guys
Asking for a friend actually,
Since updating to High Sierra he has been getting random dismounting of his HDD's (external)
Is this a High Sierra thing or could it be something else?

I have a late 2012 27" iMac and advent experienced any of these problems?

Would it be another factor?
.......Gary

Is the friend leaving the external drive connected 24/7. There have been reported problems of drives being dismounted when the iMac sleeps. In System Preferences there is a selection to stop drives sleeping. This is under Energy Saver > Power and deselect the option to put hard drives to sleep whenever possible.

Much appreciated Mate!
I will pass that on,
I have all options set to never........Is that the best way to go?
I do use.
option/shift eject to get a black screen when I leave it over night, is that OK?
