iMac reboot loop issues

my 2008 iMac is in a constant reboot loop.
I’ve tried all kinda of steps... starting in different modes etc, with no luck.
In verbose mode, the reboot happens at the point in the attached picture.
Can anyone decipher the issue for me?

Are you using a bluetooth keyboard?

If so, try substituting a WIRED USB keyboard instead.

Just wondering...
What happens if...
1. Power off (pull the plug out of the wall if you have to)
2. Press power on button
3. IMMEDIATELY hold down the option key, and KEEP HOLDING IT DOWN
4. Does the startup manager appear? Or does it "just keep looping"?

A personal experience:
I have an old 2006 white Intel iMac. The PRAM (motherboard) battery must have died, because everytime it's connected to power, it boots spontaneously (don't have to press the power-on button). But... once running, it's fine.
My solution: It's plugged into a power strip with an on/off button. When I'm done with it, I choose Shut Down from the Apple menu, and it powers off. Then I reach down and turn the power strip off. When I need to boot it, I just reach down and flip the power strip ON, and it boots right up again "on its own"...
