I am long overdue to getting a new computer and obviously I've been looking to get a new Mac for a very long time. I have really been needing a desktop and the only one I looked at was the Mac Pro, mainly because I need the power and I would be able to upgrade it in any way I wanted to in the future. I never really looked at the iMac when they used Core 2 chips however, I have been seriously looking at the iMac since Apple put a real desktop chip (i5/i7) in there. As much as I would love to still get the Mac Pro, I have made up my mind and will go with the iMac as it will be more than powerful enough for what I'll be using it for (heavy amounts of photo editing and everyday usage).
Now I realize that Apple just updated the iMac and I would love to go ahead and buy this rev. However, I will not be ready to make the purchase until probably late November or early December. I told myself that if I don't make the purchase by January that I'll just wait until Apple updates the iMac and buy the rev after this one.
So here's my question... Judging how Apple is not making updates to Macs as often as they did a few years ago, basically they're making updates about once every year now, and take into account Intel's rollout of new CPUs, if I don't buy my iMac by January, when will the next update likely take place?
