iMac restore question

i want to restore my imac so it "like new." because its running slow. last month when i restored my mac mini it got 99% but never finished. had to take it to the apple store so they can restore it. i dont want to do that with my imac because it's big.

MY QUESTION IS, is there a way to tell if your snow leopard disk work and theres no problems with it be4 i go throughout the restore process.

Ah, didn't see your post. Just send an answer via PM.

But to everyone who is reading this (not many I suppose), I don't know if the Verify button could verify the 100% functionality of the install DVD.

I suppose so, as during prior Mac OS X installations, the installer verified the disk before the actual copying process started.

It should verify that the disk is working (can be mounted, read etc) but I doubt it can verify that every file is usable (for example, it doesn't erase my incomplete torrent downloads which are count as not working files) but in install disk it shouldn't be an issue as you cannot erase or edit anything.

If you're really worried, just grab a new disk for 29$ or try it with your Mini (create a new partition and install OS X in it)
