does apple let u exchange the imac i bought 3 weeks ago for the new ones? i dont mind paying a restocking fee. anyone tried this before?
thanks

You would have 14 days before an upgrade to return.

Sounds like you are 1 week too late, it never hurts to ask though.

I just bought my iMac last week. Is there anyway I could return mine and get a new one?

aarg, but its only a week ish...

But the thing is, if they move it to 3 week return policy the people who bought it 4 weeks would say the same thing

if they made it a 4 week policy the same thing with 5 week buyers...

you can't please everyone.

This is why you should use the Guides.

I returned mine today (bought my 2.4 24" 14 days ago lol) and i didn't even pay the restocking fee. I just dropped the difference and went with 3.06.

In September last year I bought my macbook and a month later the santa rosa ones came out. I did have to pay the restocking fee but they had no problem with letting me do it.

Talk to your apple store and be nice. In most cases they are very friendly.

does that policy of returning for an upgrade apply to refurbs?
I doubt it but you could always ask.

Buying refurb means you are buying pre-owned hardware knowing that it has been pre-owned.

Since these new releases are new, they aren't going to have pre-owned models available yet, and I guess that they would only exchange a refurbished machine for another refurbished machine.

Asking your local Apple Store always helps though! The worst they can say is no.

Is it already available in stores? Mine does not have it yet

It says 14 days everywhere but I remember the salesman telling me "we can exchange it for an upgraded version anytime up to 30 days, if anything new comes"

FYI, this was April 3rd when I got my 24" iMac!

If you just bought a refurb, and I think you did (think you were the one with the ram question last night) they should refund the difference on the price you paid. I know the refurbs came down in price a little bit. Or, if you havent taken delivery of the refurb yet, you are able to return it for the price you paid.

hey guys i just got off the phone with apple and they agreed to let me exchange for a new one if you're within 1 month.
