My older, 2012 iMac screen wont stay up anymore ... How are people handling this issue?

I push it up to where it should be and then it slowly lowers all the way down. Since it is so old, I am almost about to just glue the dang thing up. However, I figured I would ask before I did that haha

hmm...Where did you find an iMac (after the G4) with a vertical adjustment on the internal screen?
Or, do you mean that the mechanism is too loose, and it tilts away (or more toward you?)

It’s a common problem and the fix is easy/cheap, except you have to remove the screen and dismantle everything 🙁
Propping the screen up with a wedge or pushrod thingy (that you can buy) is the easiest solution.

Yeah, sometimes it won't stay up anymore, because it's old and lowers all the way down. It belongs to my poor wife, though. She reminisced that it used to be so rigid, it would rattle her desk when she put her hands on it. I was concerned that hot glue would damage my tool, so I got several little blue diamond-shaped shims for the Electronic Display problem. Now that it's right back up, the wife finds it satisfactorily positioned and supportive and rewarding to use again. She soon waves me out to the garage to oil my tool until I put it away, since that time the tool swung around and almost killed the cat.

Depending on what I have nearby.
A tissue box
A cardboard box (still have some of them scattering around from online purchase of small items)
PVC pipe cut into specific shape
A modified mobile phone stand (its hinge is quite rigid and can stand the weight of the iMac; its opening is adjustable, too.)
