Hi every one,

Here is the stroy, I bought an Imac through Ebay and was the worse deal I've made in my entire life ( I'm a bit exagerating) but still It was a bad deal. The seller has annouced on his add that the Imac is a 17" intel and it is in an excellent condition. Anyway, I bought it for 670 $ and when I received it I discovered that it is not a dual but a single Imac and not 17" but 20" ( this is the only the positive thing about it). The computer was a mess and was dirty like a garbage. I tried to clean it up with paper and water but some black dots on the middle of the screen didn't give up and remained on the screen. Also, both right and left side of the screen are darker than the middle, like a dirty space that wont to be removed. The yahoo messenger does not start up ( I insalled it several time but no way). Safari crachesl. I called by phone apple and ask them about the screen and they said that it is a hardware issue and maybe I need to replace the screen. Any idea about how to fix this computer will be much welcome. Ah I forgot, I insalled the mac os x but no improvement.....please help on this and sorry for my english!!

I have contacted the seller about this issues and was I surprised that He told me that he wasn't aware of this issue. He gave 120$ back the petty thing is that I couldn't ask for the entire refund as I ve already opened a dispute against him thorugh Paypal and closed it up and cannot reopen but that's another stroy....!

Also, I wanted to know if there is a way to resolve this yahoo issues. When I click on the yahoo icon it apears for a second on the tool bar and sudenlly it despears, yahoo messenger does not open, thank you!!

So these seems to be the case?
- Item not as described. (can you post the auction page or PM me?)
- Seller agreed that the item was not as described?

You opened a dispute with PayPal, and closed it? Did you open a dispute with eBay?

----------
1. Is it covered under apple care? I doubt it is, otherwise the seller might have fixed it. Find your serial

2. Was package insured? When did it arrive?

3. Did it come with original system restore disks or Panther? You'll need to erase and reinstall the OS.

4. What form of payment did you use? Is your PayPal linked to your credit card? Did the money came out of your checking account or credit card?

Thanks for the reply,

Here is the auction page

It was completley different than the one described and the box that he use to send it has a different serial number.

It is not under apple care warranty, this computer is 3 years old. I have contacted apple to check.

I have contacted paypal and they say you cannot fill a new dispute against this seller as you ve already opened one.

I sent a message to ebay about 2 weeks ago and they reply saying it is better to call the seller and make an arrangment but they will continue to investigate. I've also contacted them today and they said they are still invesitigate and they get in touch with me.

Yeah this is the story my dear!

Here is the info from the one I got from this seller!

Ok here an another problem, I can't open any application that I download from the internet ...too bad this computer!!

You bought an Intel iMac, or thought you did, and got a PowerPC G5 machine.

That would suck ...

---

And logovert, that is not an Intel machine ...

That is the older machine before the switch to Intel.

It is the PowerPC G5 with an IBM CPU. It will not run Windows like the new machines to since it isn't an x86 based machine.

So you have something to complain about.

Hi Sun Baked,

Thanks for the reply, well as you said this is suck. Your question "You bought an Intel iMac, or thought you did, and got a PowerPC G5 machin"
will bring us to the same answer I thought I bought an intel machine as it was descirbed in Ebay add and got the powerpc G4 machine.

I have installed yahoo messenger but it wont run same to other application that I have installed into this computer but wont run. Do you I need to erase the os system and install the mac os back, I have the original CD's. The issue with that """Again"" I hate this gys, is I need his pass to open the mac os installer by clicking on the install icon!!!

Wow, bad luck there. This is why I stay away from eBay. If you're going to drop a significant amount of cash on an online purchase, do it from a corporation you can hold responsible, not from an anonymous figure who hides behind eBay. It isn't worth it.

yahoo

Does any one knows why yahoo messenger doesn't want to start up....

Thanks!
