Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering... roughly how much could I expect to sell a (pretty much) brand new 24" White iMac for? I bought the system near the end of July but I'm thinking of getting a 17" MBP.

Here's the spec which I'm thinking about sticking on eBay:

24" C2D White iMac 2.16GHz
3Gb RAM
250Gb HD
GeForce 7300 128Mb RAM
Bluetooth K&M
Applecare for 3 years

I was thinking of sticking a reserve on for about £1200? The system cost me around £1800-ish

I would hesitate to call it brand new unless you've never opened the box, which I find highly unlikely.

I know you edited your post to say the iMac is pretty much brand new, but I would caution using that language at all if you post it in an online auction. You could get into trouble if you say that and a customer believes that all you did was open the box to check for damage. You should just say it's in excellent condition, rarely used, etc.

I know the 1200 is just a reserve, but I think you should push it higher. Remember that a reserve is the least amount you're willing to accept, and I think you should accept no less than 75-80% of what you paid for it if it's truly like new. The bluetooth mouse and keyboard and Apple Care add value to the computer, and the speks are solid even compared to current systems. You could get 1600-1700 (or maybe even more) for it.
