We'll what can I say .. I used mine for a whole 5 hours before having to send it back.

I thought it was so great, the screen is vibrant, huge and the performance aint bad either.

The only problem I has was a few dead pixels, left , bottom and on the right hand side of the screen , so I 've sent it back.

Bought it on the tuesday, got it wednesday, had to send back on the friday expecting to get it the same day I sent it back, I was very excited about getting the imac, already to use and get on with some work. But I didnt receive one. On calling apple support they didnt know when I was going to get one, then I was told tuesday after being on hold for a few minutes (honestly you think they could afford better on-hold music).

So beeing narked about this since I put the day aside to get everything sorted , I canceled it.

I'm very disappointed with apple support, not even an apology even thought the computer was faulty, just seemed like once they had my cash, they didn't care.

Is there no room for "compensation" considering they messed me around the best part of 2 days, should i invoice them for my time ? :p

Anyone else come across the same crap level of support, if so please tell us about your experience,

so now, I have no imac , they cant give me my money back till monday and they dont deliver at a weekend.

Need to vent, thanks for listening.

I'm sorry about your experience, mate.

However, having said that, only last month did my friend have a problem with his MBP. Apple not only fixed the problem but also gave it a new hard-drive and screen (!) in no time at all. The support was terrific.
Just thought I'd be fair, and show that it's not all terrible, ala the forum distortion effect. :)

(N.B. And it wasn't really terrible now, was it? You sent it back Friday, and didn't get it back Friday. That figures.)

no offense, but if you bought it mail order, and sent it back mail order, I highly doubt they would send you a new one before they evaluated your old one.

Dont get me wrong, I'm still going to buy an imac,

One thing I didn't say was I got an email from apple saying my new mac was dispatched on the 31st , and since I ordered my imac 4pm on tuesday and got in next day at 9am, Perhaps I shouldn't have assumed I'd get it so quick, but still when I called they didn't seem to know what was going on.

As for them evaluating it, on only used it for a few hours, I'm still within my 14 days and completely within my rights to send it back if I'm not happy with the product and request a new one, its not as if I waited 3 weeks before sending it back.

Perhaps it was just bad luck,

please dont take offense, I'm just venting, we all need to do it sometimes, Just disappointed since I set friday aside to get everything sorted.

I love apple products and have come to expect a certain level of quality and service, since it is what they are know for.

Thanks for your replies, remember , its good to talk :D

My PS3 i ordered from a 3rd-party through Amazon took 2 weeks to arrive from dispatch. I was fuming. And I'll tell you what, i forgot all about it once i got my hands on the thing ;)

Just be patient and enjoy the iMac when you get it.

he he , Yeah mate,

Know what you mean, I think I was overly excited about getting my new one.

I've just passed the 30 barriers so I'm allowed to be a grumpy old man :p

I honestly can't follow your story. You got your online-purchased iMac on a Wednesday and only used it 5 hours but then sent it back on Friday? THEN you expected to get it back the same day?

Where are you dealing with Apple? These seem like some fairly lofty demands in service.

About a week ago I noticed a faint line on the display of my 5 month old 24" iMac and rang AppleCare here in Japan. They sent a courier to my home to pick it up on a Saturday morning and gave me a case ID with which I could track the whole process online. The service center took delivery on Monday morning, replaced the LCD panel by noon and sent it back to me. It arrived the next day. I thought that was pretty good service.

If you're expecting machines to be sent back to you the same day you send them off I would think you'd need some pretty good courier services.

Never had a problem with Apple support before. That said I've never had to use them for my own products.
My brothers iPod stopped working, rang them up and they shipped out a replacement unit to us. No questions asked other than "What colour would you like in return?".

Are you living in the real world mate? You expect a turnaround time which would tax even Superman and now you're cancelling the whole thing? Did you even want an iMac in the first place or just buy in on a whim?

Sometimes you get lemons and need to make lemonade??? Or something like that. OK ... not sure what I'm talking about but these double posts SUCK MAN!!

Somebody needs to grow up!

You know, I didn't realize this but there are actually people who make a life of being 'Forum Trolls'.

His bullhype story has inconsistencies to begin with.

Thanks for your replies,

I'll go buy one from the apple shop, its quicker and i'll shut up.
