I ordered the 27" imac on Friday via the UK HE Store and got the following shipping info:

Estimated Shipping: 2 - 4 Business days
Estimated Delivery: 04 Nov, 2009 - 09 Nov, 2009

That doesn't make any sense to me considering the order was placed on 23rd October. Is there any reason the estimated delivery is 4th Nov or later when it should really be this week if it's 2-4 days?

Also does anyone know what delivery service Apple use?

Cheers

I got my from UK HE store, I ordered on 20th and receive on 22nd. I ordered 3.06 core 2 duo version without any change. You might change something that they have none on stock so they have to wait for that part to arrive. They use UPS for delivery.:)

I didn't alter anything (apart from adding Applecare) which is why I was a bit confused. All the way through the order it said 2-4 days but then the delivery date is a couple of weeks away.

Oh well, I can wait a bit longer for it if I have to ;-)

Thanks for the info :)

If you added anything to your mac (like RAM) its usually custom made (in China) and shipped from there so takes longer. Thats my UK store experience anyway.

Indeed. Basic configs are in stock around the world, ship right away and are delivered pretty soon after that. Even if you change just the keyboard, chances are it'll become a BTO (build to order) and you'll have to wait a bit: 2-4 days for it to ship; about 1-2 weeks from China to European country; 1-2 days to your home via UPS or some other local delivery service.

I just got an email saying it's now shipped.

Does that mean it's on it's away to me in this country or just that it's on it's way from China or wherever?

The estimated delivery date was 2nd November earlier but now it's changed back to 5th November.

I also get the following:

Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.

Assigned Carrier
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.

In most cases you will have to wait 12-24 hours for the shipping company to have the item show online.

That is what I have found anyway ;-)

I also ordered a 27" iMac on Oct 24th 09...

Hi
I also ordered a 27" iMac from the HE store on the Saturday. I had been reading your comments, and my initial delivery date - similar to yours was the 5th Nov - 10th Nov a day later - but same time frame.
And mine also changed to the 2nd November but has now gone back to being the 6th Nov that it will arrive before or on.

I didn't realise when i ordered that just by changing the keyboard - which i did - made it BTO. I keep checking to see if the tracking number will show on the Shipping Information page - it shipped yesterday evening.

This is my first ever Mac and am really excited about it arriving. Cant Wait!
Looking forward to things being simple with it not like Windows.

Have you tried putting the 80 number from the info page into TNT tracking under the reference number section

I was told November 9th onwards for the i7 I ordered. I am assuming about November 15th by the time it arrives from China.

Mine currently says

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 05 Nov 2009 (Subject to change)

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 30 Oct 2009

yea its shipping from china im afraid. mine did the same thing - displaying '1-3 days' shipping but then taking an extra 7 days to arrive after it was dispatched. I was really

Has anyone else had an email from Apple informing them of the delay on the Apple Remote?

It says that Apple Remotes have a delay of 2-4 weeks, does this mean that as I ordered this with my iMac that the whole order will be held up or that they may ship them as two orders?

Apple Remote & Tracking Number

Hi

Sounds bad! Hopefully if you phone them they might ship as two orders?

I ordered an Apple Remote with my iMac 27" on Saturday aswell as a couple of pieces of software and couldn't understand why the delivery was for around the end/middle of November so phoned Apple. They told me that it was because the Apple Remote had a 2 - 4 Week delivery and the whole order would ship as one. Needless to say I cancelled the remote.

Also i have tried every delivery company i can think of, DHL, TNT, UPS, FedEx, Parcel Force etc. etc. to try and track my iMac with its 80********** number but to no avail.

It still just says In Transit to Customer - On Schedule.

Same here but my number starts 81.

Mine is also 81

Mine is also 81. 8101........ But it seems everyone references it as an 80 number.

I wish you could see where the iMac is now, if its even in this country. I live in London.

Cant wait for it to arrive!
