I have found the past 4 weeks that my iMac will not respond to any mouse movement, keyboard, trackpad or pushing the power button every 5 days or so. I must unplug from the wall, replug into wall then push power button, then it boots up. I have had iMac for 9 months and has always just went to sleep and when I move mouse awakens. After I must unplug, it works correctly again for 5 to 6 days then must be unplugged again. Anyone know why this is happening as I do not believe any settings have been changed and I am the only user of this iMac.

This could be many things, but I'll take a stap.
1. Power - Could you have a problem with the power going into the Imac?
2. Hard Drive - A bad hard drive can cause intermitent crashes
3. Memory - See hard drive
4. Video Card - See Memory
5. Updates - Is your machine capeable of doing updates? It could be crashing on your scheduled apple updates, or some other program that does automatic updates like Office or Adobe Creative Suite.
The first thing I always try because its usually the problem is software configuration. Try wiping completely clean and reinstall. (make sure to back-up first, but don't restore apps from backup reinstall everything).
If this doesn't work you can get a UPS which should take care of the power problem, or at least inform you if there is one, and replace the memory if that fails.
Replacing the others I have mentioned is a much more difficult task.
