iMac shutting down.

I have an imac G5 which keeps making a popping sound and looses power completely and instantly shuts off, I have tried it through various power supplies in the house, it is also on a power surge protector, I have ran a hardware test and reinstalled my system software. This only seems to happen when I have connected to the internet, has anyone any ideas what could be causing this?

Is it a first generation iMac G5? Does it fit within the serial numbers given on this page?
