My iMac has been perfect until about an hour ago, it is now freezing, sort of!!!! The mouse moves around but wont click on ANYTHING. The only way to do anything is to hold down the power button. I was using a mighty mouse but have plugged back in my USB one, not much better. After I power it back up it will work slowly for a bit, but then stops again. Its about 18 months old and all updates are done.???? any suggestions ?

maybe someone may have a better suggestion but i would just make sure im fully backed up via time machine and do a complete clean reinstall

This is a replacement for one the was faulty, I did a clean reinstall and now I have no iPhoto? don"t know why, do I have to now buy iLife?

Seems like it may be a failing HDD. Backup what you can with minimal usage of the computer and get it to the Genius Bar ASAP. Disk usage will just kill it faster.
