I have the Latest iMac 21.5" and although using the shortcut to make the computer sleep is easy I want to know if theres some sort of app or hack that can allow me to snap my fingers to make it sleep and wake, purely because I think it would be cool.

I've been searching google for about 45 mins and I haven't found anything so I was wondering if anyone knows of anything which would allow me to do this.

Thanks.

Don't think such a thing exists unfortunately. Would be cool though, but I can imagine many a sleep mode activated by accident triggered by snap-like sounds, especially sounds from TV.

I don't think it would be possible honestly. Your mic would have to be on all the time during sleep mode so that it could wake up. May work one way..but not the other.

I have a glass desk and if I drop a pen on it, the sound is very close to a snap. That would get annoying if you were in the middle of something.

Works easily for me, but requires two hands...

Does the wireless keyboard not contain Cmd/Alt on the right hand side of the space bar too? I presume these'll work for Sleep but I haven't tried (and am in the middle of an encode batch so now is not the time!)

As for the snap of fingers to shut down? I can't think of a worse idea.
