Hey, dont know if this is a problem with anyone else but have you noticed the aluminium imac will distort slightly when played at max volume? I've got the 24inch model.

I know this generally happens with most products but I assumed apple would digitaly cap it so this wouldnt happen. Test track i used which will always give distortion is "the pretender" by the foo's.

Any feedback would be great!!!

What do you expect, they are little tweeters built into the computer. They aren't made by Wilson Audio.

Just get a good external speaker set.

just found this topic..

and mines has exactly the same issue.

apple should have capped the speakers for sure, as it makes it look like they are using crap speakers...

i have mines hooked up to my cambridge audio setup, but sometimes i like to just keep it on the computer audio, and it sounds like flapping of the tweeters when playing up high.

also, the startup boing the we know and love sounds very very dull on my imac 24"...not sure if yours is like that too??
My imac 20" ALS is much more clearer
