Imac stained screen issue

I own two imacs, one 20" and a 24" (both white models, late 2006, early 2007). First I had apple assistance to replace three times (3!!!) the display on the 20 incher, because of stains appearing in the left corners of the screen, now it's the turn of the 24", which displays stains in the upper central part of the screen. I don't know if it's only bad luck but I'm quite convinced that it has to do with the quality of the sealing in the imac displays (it's dirt sneaking inside the display, I guess). Fortunately I have apple care, so there will be no extra costs. But, it's incredible how this can happen so often. They should do something to enhance their quality control.

I ask because my iMacs are in very very dusty areas, we do what we can to keep them clean. We have never had the problem you describe.

In reality the iMacs are not 'sealed' and some iMacs installed in locations that exceed Apple Environmental Specifications have developed similar issues.

The problem is, I have an older imac (the "steel neck" type) and an ibook in the same room and they never had the same problems. Therefore it's a problem of the newer models, which I presume are made to lower quality standards regarding display protection or sealing or whatever. Besides, the room is not dusty (I live in a green neighborhood, and no one smokes). Apple should address this problem, which I found has emerged in the last time in the forums. Someone even tried to resolve it by disassembling the imac (which is a risky endeavor) and cleaning the inner surface of the display. Someone also thinks it has to do with overheating of some components inside the imac which cause material (glue or similar) left during assemby on the display to "burn" and get visible with time. The bottom line is: Apple quality is diminishing in general regarding hardware, maybe because they are trying to reduce manufacturing costs, and this is unacceptable.
