Hello all, I tried a search, but couldn't find my exact problem... I have a 20" iMac G5 2.1ghz (iSight). My friend has a 20" 2.0ghz rev b. Neither one of our computers will burn dvds anymore. We can read and write cd's, and read dvd's but whenever we put a blank DVD in the drive it just spins for a while and will spit it out. I don't know what the problem could be. We have tried different brands of dvd, but still no luck. Before the computers would take any blank dvd we would throw at it.. any ideas????

i have heard of a program called PatchBurn see if that will solve it.

I don't think patchburn will work, because it's for unsupported drives. Once you install patchburn your unsupported drive will work with iTunes etc. My dvd burner is the one that came with the computer, and has worked in the past.

Got the same issue, tried many different solutions without any luck. It's with apple right now (they are fitting a new drive).

I suggest you give them a ring

before i call apple, i'm going to try to boot from an external hard drive to see if it works and if so i'll do a clean install... this bites!
