Well, I guess I'm going to pay for the extra support.
When I bought the iMac and they tried to sell it to me (it was my first Mac) I gave the standard "no thanks." Not really understanding what I was cutting myself off from. I guess I took it to mean extended warranty on the hardware, etc.
But now I get it. It literally means no support after 90 days. I had to call in the other day and they rejected my request for service. When I used them within the 90 day period they were very helpful-- so I guess it's worth it.
It just seems that 90 days is pretty limiting for support. Is this the new industry standard or are PC manufacturers offering more with the machines?
