New to the Mac . . . .

I updated my new iMac to 1.3. Apparently it happened successfully. But, when I looked for information on the current installed SW update for my iMac I could not find it anywhere.

Guess this is a dumb question, but I am frustrated after looking for 15 minutes. Where can I find the current iMac SW Rev Number on my machine?

Thanks for your help.

About this Mac, then More Info, then it should be the SMC number.

Thanks, chadrob30 . . .

I did find it and, to my surprise, it reads 1.21f4 and
NOT 1.3 as I had expected.

I downloaded and installed 1.3; successful, according to the dialog box that came up after the installation.

SWAG: Maybe the 1.3 download package detects something in a given machine, probably based on SN, and installs only part of the 1.3 package. Since I have never experienced the now-infamous "iMac Freeze" with this machine I bought September 5, perhaps the part of the upgrade that addresses that problem was not installed. ? ? ? ?

Same here. I'm running Leopard, so i should have 1.3. Also, this could be the version that never experiences the iMac freeze? I'm crossing my fingers.

Mine is at 1.21f4, I also thought I had the 1.3 installed, and am running Leopard. Non freezing iMac here.

Sure looks like the 1.3 update is adaptive, possibly based on the machine SN.
