Weird, just before xmas, a mate of mine who bought his iMac (first intel rev) the same time as me was complaining that it kept switching itself on dead on the stroke of midnight.

Mine has now started doing exactly the same thing. His is still Tiger, mine has a clean install of Leopard.

We both cleard the SMC memory down as described on here but it still happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you checked the Schedule times in the Energy pane of System Preferences. You can tell your Mac to wake, sleep, boot or shut down from here.

My EyeTV can turn on the computer to record a program.

Do you have an task type software (backup, anti-virus, etc.) scheduled to run at 12:00?

Two things.

Go to Sys Prefs>Energy Saver>Options. Ensure "Wake for Ethernet network administrator" is uncheck

Also if you're using a bluetooth device go to Sys Prefs>Bluetooth>Settings. Ensure "Allow Bluetooth Devices to wake this computer is unchecked as well.

Hopefully these help. If not, Call AppleCare

My iMac is close to 5 days old, nothing gone wrong like this yet.

Crosses fingers:D
