When I start my iMac 27" from 2009, the screen lights up slightly and nothing happens. It works on an external screen, I changed the inventory and it does the same. Do you have any idea of a fault?

Try reseting the pram if that doesn't work may be the lcd/backlight.

How to Reset PRAM or NVRAM
  1. Power off your Mac.
  2. Press your Mac's power button and then hold these four keys at the same time: ⌘ + option + P + R.
  3. Continue holding the keys until your Mac restarts for the second time. On older Macs, the chime will sound upon restart.
Hopefully this helps.

Hello, thank you for your answer, but I have already done that and nothing has changed.

Do you see anything at all on the internal screen, even if you shine a light into the display, such as top menubar, icons on the desktop, or maybe any part of your dock? Look carefully, as any image (with a non-working backlight) might be very dim.
There's a separate board just for the backlight. Apple's part nunmber for the backlight board is 661-5311. It's probably worth a try to replace that.
Here's one: https://smile.amazon.com/Replacement-661-5311-Backlight-Replacment-V267-604HF/dp/B0722TFJ6D

If the backlight board did not fix, then there is the backlight itself - replace the LCD panel.

(What do you mean by "changed the inventory" in your first post ? I don't quite understand your choice of that word...)

A knocked-off component when disassembling the GPU.
I got the same issue on my iMac 2009 and 2010.
Easy fix if you know where to look at.

My advice:

At going on 14 years old, either use it with an external display (if you have one), or start shopping for a replacement.

It's not worth spending much (any?) money on a 14-year-old Mac...

I'm totally agree with you if the iMac is a tool for earning one's living.

On another aspect, just look at it as an electronic toy for adult, with the joy it will bring when one can fix thing, and save a beautiful item from going to the dumpster.
