hello
i have a late 2015 iMac. I am thinking to re purpose this to drive a wall mount flat screen. this iMac has:
-display is 21.5" (4096x2304) intel iris pro 6200
-16G sys memory
-intel i5 3.1g processor
-500G ssd
-two thunder bolt 2 ports
-Ethernet cable to home network

get content either off a network NAS box using VLC or stream it

-can this iMac drive HDMI 2 via its built in thunder bolt port
-What is out there to convert the 2.0 thunder bolt port to the best latest possible HDMI?
-What big screen tv's have people been having luck with?

thanks in advance...

I use a Belkin display port-to-HDMI adapter for my '12 iMac and '13 MBA using their thunderbolt ports. Works great with my 55" Sony (XBR-930D) or a cheap little Element TV I got at Walmart.
