Just got a new 3.06/500gig iMac...It's been a few years since I've tried to move everything from one computer to another... Wondering if I should 1st go with "Setup Assistant" or "Migration Assistant"...current machine is an Imac 2.4GHz core duo. The old one has all the current software updated..am running 10.6.6...Also what problems might I see with regards to PhotoShop migration?

Just use Setup Assistant so everything will be like they were from the beginning. Photoshop may need to be reactivated

Thanks..By "reactivaed" what do you mean..re-enter the serial #? Also, when is it better to use "Migration Assistant"...I ask this because the salesman suggested "Migration Assist"

Yes.

IMO MA is better if you want to transfer e.g. your wife's user account from another Mac to your Mac. Setup assistant is just Migration Assistant that shows up at the end of installation, they offer the same features.

Thanks again...that's what I was unsure about . This is a computer that I only use for business so I'm hoping that this goes without any problems...I appreciate your response !!
