I was wondering it is possible to connect my iMac to my 26' Vizio LCD that I just bought for my room recently. Is there a way to use the tv as a/the monitor for my iMac? Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's certainly possible. You'd need the Apple mini-DVI to regular DVI adapter (or VGA if that's OK for you.) You would then need a DVI-to-HDMI cable (check around, I got mine from Newegg) or a VGA monitor cable (not an extension!)

You could use it as "a" monitor but not "the" monitor. You could use either mirroring or extend your desktop onto it.
