iMac Trade in. Should I remove my 6 year old extra 8gb DDR memory?

I put an extra 8gb memory in. Its working fine. It's priced on the basis of original memory not with the addition.
The 8Gb is not worth much s/h now and there's always a danger taking it out will disrupt something.
Will Apple look askance if there's non Apple extra memory in it ?

I don't think it will matter. I would just leave it as is. I doubt Apple will even care.

If you are trading in, Apple won't give you any extra and most likely for an older computer - it will recycled or just resold. You could just pull it and sell it locally for cheap or give it away for free.

unless you can reuse it or want to sell it, I would let it go.
