I have been hearing that use can use a mac as an access point so that you can connect your ipod touch to the internet without using an airport station but just a broadband connection through the mac? Is this true and if it is how do i go about doing so i can go on the internet on my ipod touch?

If your mac is connected to the internet via ethernet, but has an airport card, just go to system preferences, then to sharing (in Leopard). Then turn on internet sharing and share ethernet over airport.

well i have the newest imac with leopard installed so does it already have an airport card? How do i go about finding out?

okay wait one more question does my imac have to be powered on for the internet sharing to work?

i know huh dumb question but just wanna make sure but would be cool if it didnt have to be on all the time :D

How strong is the signal on the imac so i can share the internet connection on my ipod touch?
