New iMac vs Air in relation to 'quickness'... Is the iMac as fast or faster than the Air when used with a SSD?

I had heard somewhere before that the level of integration of the SSD's in the MBA is what makes them able to perform so quickly... I'm not talking about raw power, more system response time.

Any thoughts? Anyone with both?

You can search on youtube, and I bet the new iMac 2011 (non SSD) still beaten by MacBook Air 2010 in terms of boot time

You may feel MBA is perfect, even iMac 2011 i7 still put to shame when they boot up.

But wait, MBA may boot 5 or 10 seconds faster than iMac, but MBA would take 20more minutes to encode the same videos!!

And iMac is really snappy too, you may feel everything a bit slower when loading apps or games compared to MBA .. but not by far :)

Even iMac with SSD still a bit behind MBA, so I don't think iMac worth extra $600 for SSD option, unless :apple: provide $200 128Gb SSD option just like on new MBP
So don't worry about iMac
