Not sure if anyone noticed, but originally if you configured an iMac with the Ati 4850 the release date was saying 4-6 weeks, putting everyone I know that ordered it with a ship date of May 1st, regardless of whether or not you ordered it the day of the announcement (as a few of my friends did) or two weeks later (as I did).
If you configure the computer now, it says 7-10 days. In a sort of "wtf" twist, I thought my iMac would now ship a lot sooner. Checked my order status (as did my friends) and it still says May 1. Contacted customer service and they also said it's shipping May 1st.
So what the hell is the deal? Current shoppers get the same computer sooner despite ordering after? I suppose I could just cancel my main order and then re-order, but seeing as how I put it on a debit card, would be an extra week before the money is even returned to my card.
