When I put my iMac to sleep using the Active Screen Corner sometimes my screen turns back on whenever. I dont know if my mouse is moving waking it up or what. It's really irritating cause when *I'm* sleeping all of a sudden BAM! bright screen right in your face, like staring at the Bat-signal! I've noticed sometimes my MightyMouse's pointer jumps when I move the mouse and I don't know if that movement is causing the screen to wake up or not. No I do not have any Bluetooth devices connected. I read somewhere on here about resetting the SMC might help. I have a 24" 3.06 GHz iMac, can I do this on this model?

Resetting the SMC might be a little extreme. First, just to clarify, when you use the Hot Corner you are only putting the display to sleep. You are not putting your iMac to sleep.

Are you running programs while you sleep? Or are you just doing it to avoid waiting for it to start up?

I wouldn't even mind waiting for the Mac to start up, they dont take too long to do so, especially with the Intel Core Duo/Core 2 Duo processors.

Compare that to the PowerPC G5 and its crazyyyy fast :D

Yes I just want the display to sleep. Sometimes I have programs running while it sleeps and sometimes I don't, but sometimes the screen just pops back on for no reason.

IF you have bluetooth peripherals it could be these disconnecting and re connecting. Thats what waked my iMac up.
