Hi,

I need your help to solve this problem that I have.
When I connected the mybook to the iMac (Intel 24") via the firewire directly it wouldn't show up. However, if I connected behind another firewire HD, it does show up.

The same mybook would show up fine on my powerbook G4.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to check the Western Digital web site. There is a new driver to make it work correctly.

Thanks Chris for your reply. I did install the new driver got same result.
Hmm, interesting. Not sure what could be happening. I had the same sort of problem and the driver upgrade fixed it. Other than disconnecting all other devices and trying it again, I'm at a loss.

I had the same issue, I was told to do the following...

Remove all cables including the power cable for 2 minutes to allow any power in the mother board to discahrge

Then put all the cables back in but do not switch the machine on....

The follow these steps

1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
