iMac wireless n update problems

I have a white c2d iMac. When I updated to Leopard, the firmware of the airport extreme gained the ability to connect to 802.11n. I have been using Leopard since its release, connecting to my 802.11g network with no problems. I recently upgraded my router to wireless n (D-link DIR-825).

Ever since the upgrade I have periods where I will lose my connection for about 10 secs at a time, although the airport menu bar always shows a connection and the network utility shows no dropped packets. I researched the problem thoroughly, and tried every different configuration on the router I could think of. I even did an erase and install of Leopard. I have now come to the realization that this only happens when I connect on the "n" band. I have tried both 2.4 & 5 Ghz frequencies with the same results. The only way I can get a stable connection is by connecting on the "g" band.

Is there any kind of bug with the airport firmware update that would be causing this? I am out of ideas and have pretty much given up on the "n" connection.

What OSX version are you at?
When we went from 10.5.4 to 10.5.6 we noticed some periodic problems in 802.11n--but nothing fatal. Sometimes iMail will lose touch, sometimes (rarely) the AirPort can not find the Access Point. (Our N solution is Mac's AirPort Express connected to our B router and Internet Firewall which is connected to the G router which connects to other computers in the house...) My iMac24" and my wife's MacBook both are running from N (B is for the printer, and G is for the -work's- lap Dell).

I'm running 10.5.6... The problem actually seems to be better within the last couple of days so I'm hoping that maybe it was a problem with my isp or dns servers and by chance I only noticed it on the n band. It was a pain because I use Connect360 to stream media to my Xbox 360 and it would lose connection with the computer in the middle of watching something.
