Gonna order an imac when leopard is released, but just wondering...is it worth spending an extra £50ish on a 2GB ram stick and have 3GB RAM total, or should I save the money and just get a 1GB stick and have 2Gb total.

I've heard ram runs better in pairs, but (and im just making an educated guess here), surely a whole GB more RAM is gonna outweigh the performance of matching pairs?

only gonna be using it for surfing, bit of photo editing, maybe a bit of video editing, converting video to mp4 for my pod, and the usual itunes, word etc.

(1GB stick is about £40ish from crucial and have found a 2GB samsung stick on ebay for £80 inc pnp)

Yes, the performance increases with 3gb would outweigh the matched 2gb pairs. But, you shouldn't need any more then a gig, and certainly not 2gb of ram. 3gb would be way overkill for what you plan on doing.

Get the 2gb, for what you plan on doing, the extra money for 3gb isn't worth it.
