iMac with Leopard won't perform routine maintenance

Previous to the last two upgrades when I checked the daily, weekly and monthly log files, it showed that maintenance was performed. I don't know if this started after the 10.5.3 or the 10.5.4, but now checking the log files shows that no maintenance is being performed.

Does anyone have an explanation and/or fix?

To save time, I've performed a disk repair, repaired permissions, started in safe mode and reinstalled Leopard. Still the same problem.
