So im running an i7 Hackintosh right now which is awesome but im tired of dealing with all the problems doing everything manually. Obv. Id like a macpro but they are priced out of my budget currently at first I was against an imac cause I run 2 19" monitors but I figure I could still use 1 extra monitor and put the other on my old computer it wont look perfect but atleast itll be a mac. So im looking into an i7 imac. Can anyone that uses protools let me know how this runs? Right now I have a system sata drive and an audio sata drive to record too im wondering how well recording to a usb drive will work? Since my interface is FW and Imacs only have 1 fw port. dont know if itll work daisy chained.

Sigh...

I'm TOLD though I haven't tested this as yet that FW800 supposedly has little latency when daisy chained, supposedly no draw on the CPU versus something like USB2.

That being said, I'm running logic and it's amazing - my G5 computer basically had the power of a smartphone compared to this i7.

I finished mastering my cd and put it on itunes with the i7:

I had to use the i7 to finish the project off, the G5 collapsed and I got it done about 10 times sooner.
