I have a really weird issue with my iMac it suddenly cannot connect to my WiFi network like it used to before.
The problem started with my iPhone, suddenly it lost connection to the WiFi on my home giving me the wrong password error message even though the password was correct, although I could connect with no problem to other WiFi networks. After of couple of days my iMac also lost connection and gave me the same error message.

Then I contacted my service provider and they reset the router and the iPhone connected successfully, contrary to the iMac which is still giving me the same error. I have apple care so I scheduled to take the computer to an Apple service center, because we tried everything over the phone and nothing worked.

My concern is that if Apple diagnoses that the iMac is connecting just fine to other WiFi networks but not mine, then they will just tell me that it is an issue with my service provider. I’m afraid Apple won’t be able to replicate the issue because it only happens with my network so I don’t know what kind of solution they can offer me if anything at all..

The only thing that will be left to do is change service provider company or add another internet service on my apartment and connect the iMac via Ethernet, instead of WiFi but that will be an expense that I don’t need to make because right now I connect to free WiFi from the router that is located to the basement.

Edit: I don’t know if I should try to change the password on WiFi network maybe that would work.

You wouldn't happen to be running the latest betas, would you?....

And yeah, sure, try and change the wi-fi password. And also try logging into the guest account on the iMac.

Yes I have updated the latest betas.
I tried to log into guest and other test accounts but still nothing.
Ok I’ll try to change the password then.

Is the iMac in close proximity to either your ISP modem/router?

I'd suggest you try a DIRECT ETHERNET connection just to see if it works.
Might be worth moving the iMac temporarily, just to give it a try.

Hmmm.... you wrote:

Are you telling us that you're connecting (for free) to somebody else's ISP account?
Or are you paying for it?
This could muddy the waters considerably.

I tried a direct Ethernet conection and it connected fine. The iMac is not close it is located in the 1st floor and the router is in basement.
My uncle has the router in the basement and he has given me access to the WiFi network.
I’ll suggest him we change the password or try to disable it altogether and see if it connects then.

That's your issue right there. Roll back from the beta. We're a couple of people who've had wi-fi issues on the latest betas, mostly on iOS so far, but it's happening

You installed beta on your iMac and it cannot connect to the otherwise fine WiFi network and you blame the router?

Well as the Apple care support told me that since the iMac seems to connect just fine to other networks that it is a problem of my router or my service provider. They never mentioned to me that the betas might be the problem, on the contrary they urged me to update the iMac to the latest updates.

Eh, this is such a hassle. How do i roll back from beta? Via time machine backups?
I just don’t want to drag myself to the Apple service center and waste my time because they’ll tell me that the computer connects fine to other networks so it is just an issue of my router.

If I can roll back from betas and that fixes the issue then I prefer to try that.

Surely they meant the latest stable updates, not betas. A beta is testing software that is known to have issues.

Time Machine, a snapshot, the old installers form non-beta releases.

If you're using APFS, you should create a snapshot before moving to a beta release so you can easily revert.

I’m not sure if I use APFS, I have the 2015 2TB fusion model.
[doublepost=1516985192][/doublepost]I’m sorry but there might be some confusion from my part. Are the beta updates included in the regular system updates that are on the AppStore or are betas a separate process to download and install?
I just meant that I always update to the latest system and security updates when I get a notification from the imac but I’m not sure if the betas are included in those.

"The iMac is not close it is located in the 1st floor and the router is in basement."

My suggestion:

From the basement to the first floor isn't that far.
Run an ethernet cable up to your apartment. Even if you have to run it from a basement window to outside, then "up the house" to the most convenient window, and then inside.
Or... drill a small hole through the floor or run it through the wall.
Get it done.

Then...
Get a wireless router of your own.
You might even consider a USED Airport Extreme. They're older, but very easy to set up, and they work well enough. Bought used in good condition, the price isn't too high.

Then...
Either set the router "in bridge mode" or perhaps create a NEW wireless network for your personal use. Use DIFFERENT CHANNELS than your uncle uses so they don't conflict. You can use the free "iStumbler" app to see what channels are already in use. Choose others for your setup.

Hook the iMac up via ethernet to the back of the router.

I sense things will run much better going forward, if you do it that way.

Don't use betas as daily drivers, they are betas for a reason... Not fully polished and you will encounter issues and errors. To prevent this in the future don't use beta releases.

Thank God, we reset the router and changed the password and now it worked. It was just a bit of a hassle because we had to contact Linksys to do a reset on the router and create a new wifi network and password for us and now the iMac is connecting fine so I don't have to take it to the apple service center.
It is difficult to run ethernet right now but ideally that would be best. But maybe in the near future we will decide to proceed.

Are betas located in the app store update section where the regular updates are located also?
Thi is all the updates I have downloaded to the iMac.

You might want to log into the router and make sure that any sort of "remote management" capability is OFF. Most likely, it was just a glitch, but one never knows.

Betas are distributed through the App Store, but only if you install the Beta Profile first. They are not automatically distributed. Betas are unfinished updates that are still being worked on, and you have to manually opt-in to receive them.
