So here's what happened. The computer was running in Windows, my daughter hit the sleep button on the keyboard and it restarted the computer.
But, it wouldn't restart in Windows. If the Windows CD is in, it goes to the repair page, but there's no drive to select to repair.
So, I restarted it in OS X where it worked fine. Decided to restart again in Windows, and it went to a blank white screen. Put in the OS X cd and that did nothing. It only sits on a white screen. If you hit option, the cursor shows up and that is it. It still does the 'gong'.
I took it to the Apple store where they told me to plug in an external HD and with the OS X cd inside it will run. I plugged in a newly formatted 80GB hd and did that. Did nothing.
I tried all the start up keystrokes I could find online. What the heck do I do now!?
