I'm hopin someone can help me, I have a 2017 IMac 5k 27" 2TB Intel Core i7 that won't turn on. I spent $4,200 on it less than 2 years ago n it's out of warranty. I took it apart, I think it needs a new logic board but I have no idea what logic board I need or if thats even the right part. I replaced the power supply thinking that may have been the issue but no such luck. This whole thing happened because I'm an idiot and I used the wrong cable to connect the computer to my printer. The printer wifi wasn't linking all the time so I thought buyin a usb to usb cable would help not realizing I needed a special cable to go from the back of the printer to the computer usb. Well, as soon as I plugged the usb cord from the printer to the usb cord on my imac they both shut off. No lights on either, no nothing. I tried the hard reboot and that didn't do anything So, It appears I may have fried both devices. I I started replacing parts on the imac, first starting with the power supply with no luck. Do you have any advice ??? I have 4 kids and can not afford to buy another computer and the computer place in my area wants a $800 deposit. I took it to Best Buy and they said I'm better off buyin a refurbished computer because the cost to ship it to apple is more than a refurbished computer. I work from home so I need to fix this.
