iMac won't turn on and fans come on right when plugged in

An iMac I have won't turn on but the fan runs. I don't even have to turn it on, I just plug it in and they go on. When I press the power button nothing, but the fan still runs. I have to unplug it to stop them.

Does anybody know anything I can try to see if I can get it working again?

It's an iMac G4 a PowerPC and not an Intel Mac.
