If it was, wouldn't Apple use that as a selling point? I can't find any info on the screen type on their site. Hum, can anyone else confirm this? How about a higher resolution pic please.
S-IPS panels are supposed to be better than S-PVA for colour accuracy and viewing angle. There seems to be a fair amount of argument about it, though. I thought there were no 24" S-IPS panels in production.
Ok put it this way, all(most) expensive flat panels are s-ips, and middle range are pva or mva, and the cheapest is TN panel. If you go to newegg or bestbuy and search for flat panels with ascending order, first lots are tns and so on.
The dell 2x07wfp series are so popular because they used s-ips (so as cinema display), although later on dell used pva panels.
Maybe I should have specified the shell of a larger nut.
From what I've gleaned from a quick scout round the web the panels have a wider viewing angle and such, nothing really to get in a tizzy over. Someone up there made a good point about Apple not highlighting it as a selling point.
