When did the Mac Mini get a detachable screen??

Since it never had a screen attached to begin with.

Seriously, I don't get what is being talked about here. What the hell is an iMac with a "detachable" screen? What would that get you that the Mac mini doesn't?

I understand what your saying, I dont see the need for this type of iMac.

could you imagine carrying a 24" slate to the living room? i'm sure such a device would make good use of multi-touch technology, but i don't think people overall will make good use of such imacs.

What about an iMac with a detatchable screen. A portable iMac (only the screen though:p ) What do you think?

MacMini + ACD?

I don't get why people keep on saying this kind of things. It's like people saying 'MacBook with a 15 inch screen and decent graphics card', well YEH it's called the MacBook Pro...

i think your thinking like this
i like it... note this took me twenty seconds in photoshop...
i think what you mean is that you can detach it from the base ( like leaving it with the vesa mount).... but it being portable (maybe a 15'' screen?) and maybe touchscreen... i hope this is what your talking about

OH! AT LAST! Someone understands what I'm saying!
The screen would be touch sensitive with the multi-touch tecnology and much thinner (like 1" thin):D

Yeeaaa.

I don't think touch screen Macs will be out for a while. At least till the iPhone is well on it's way for an update. Cause its a better plan to have one item touch sensitive. At least I think so.

I've created this Apple ad in Photoshop (30mins). This is how I want it to be.

Obviously a Blu ray disk is a 'compact disk', but it would not be called a CD.

I think that it would be more likely that apple would semi-revert to an iMac G4 design as the screen was so adjustable :)

And what on Earth is 'All UI' ?!

Yeah maybe it was a crazy idea and that never would of been very triomphant but you have to think different :apple:

Its not a crazy idea, it has been brought up many times by other people. One guy said he saw something similar that kept the components in the base and used wi-fi to send the data to and from the detachable screen.
I don't really understand why you would call it an iMacbook when it is just an iMac with detachable screen.
I think it would be a great option just like I think multi-touch would be a great option. I wouldn't use either one of the 100% of the time but I would pay more to have those options.
