Just thinking about the new mac mini 2011 running the AMD Radeon HD 6630M, is this going to be able to light gaming like starcraft 2.

I have a late 2010 iMac with a ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB which is currently used for light gaming

Just wondering if the mac mini could do the same thing

6630M will give you the performance of 5650M which is slower than 5730M(5670) that iMac offers. The difference isn't huge though

Has anyone figured out roughly what the desktop equivalent to the 6630m is yet? I keep searching for this and all I can find are the mobile equivalents which I don't have much experience with.

5570, I believe, is the closest desktop equivalent.

Though 5570's are generally sold with a lot more RAM.

I do believe you are correct. Though based on your info I did a bit of digging and it appears the 6630m is almost spec for spec a HD 6570 with a more variable clock speed.

It's based on AMD 6570, though that GPU has a higher clock (485MHz vs 650MHz).
