To achieve the iMac's form factor (heat wise mostly), a mobile processor was used. The trade-off is very low, and performace remains top-notch.

I have an iMac and love it. It performs well even under stressful coputing situations.

I really enjoy my 24" iMac. Its fast, compact and quiet. Front Row is great too, love it! I used to have Powermacs and this was my first consumer mac. Haven't looked back since getting it.

I have a brand new 17" iMac C2D 2.0 sitting in my closet (Christmas gift for sister) that is just taunting me to open it.

There's nothing wrong with giving a Christmas gift before the 25th right? ;)

I think the iMac is a great system- period. If they're basically laptops, then they're REALLY cheap and REALLY great.

I have kinda the same thing. Under my Christmas tree is a square box and a big rectangular box. Hmm seems to me it's a Mac Mini and a display. My parents put out my presents early just to bother me. Grr they are evil!

I hope it's not a box for a Zune and a Dell...

Well, since the iMac is about as thick as some PC laptops, that pretty much sums it up.

Better hard drives though.
