Image Capture device share

I'm going to put this out there and hope someone can shed some light on it.

I'm sharing a device in Image capture... but i recognise the address as being internal. i.e. 10.0.1.x:5100...

how do i allow my friend to connect to the shared device from another country? i.e. what is the address i should give him?

Use your external ip, with the same port.

Go into your router settings (assuming you use one) and forward the port to your internal ip.
