I've posted basically the same question on the Adobe forums without much joy, but does anyone know how an imaging application "registers" with Image Capture such that you can select it as a destination from the "Import to" menu when selecting to where images from an SD card go? On my old iMac I had Lightroom automatically open the Import dialog when an SD card was inserted but on my new rMBP this doesn't happen, even though the option is enabled in Lightroom's Preferences. I suspect that the reason for this is that Image Capture doesn't seem to recognise Lightroom (installed via Creative Cloud) as it is non-selectable in the Finder dialog you get from the "Import to" menu's "Other" option. Photoshop CC, however, can be selected. Given this I'm thinking something weird is going on here so I'm wondering if anyone might know how I can get Image Capture and Lightroom to play nicely with each other (again).
