I have a 2021 16" M1 Pro MacBook Pro with an iPhone 14 Pro Max. When I try to import some photos from Image capture occasionally it will only show 30 photos at a time instead of the normal 1,000. If I import those 30 photos and delete them from the phone and unplug/replug the phone it will show another 10-30 photos. It is very frustrating when im trying to import a few hundred at a time.

For some reason it tends to often occur when I take photos at one location where I tend to take 300-800 photos. I recently visited another location and it showed 80 of 88 photos. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I have tried rebooting my Mac and phone, using different cords, using different ports on the MacBook (For some reason it got stuck showing no new photos on the right side port, I moved to the left side and it showed more photos).

I am running the latest version of macOS and iOS 16 (Non beta versions. Maybe upgrading to Ventura and 16.1 Monday will fix things). I do not have iCloud library turned on (The same photos and missing photos appear if I open the photos app on my Mac) however I have shared library turned on and photo stream. I haven't changed my settings since the iPhone X era and never had this issue before.

I think I found the issue. Once the photo has been processed by the iPhone it will appear in image capture. Photos that were taken but not processed are not showing up, the only way to get them to appear is to open the photo on the iPhone and it should appear in image capture shortly after. Swiping to the next picture should make it appear also.

All your images should show that are on your phone (unless you have something set somewhere that says otherwise).
You shouldn't have to click each picture.....🤔
