I am looking for image converter for iOS which can do following things:
  1. convert numerous PNG screenshots to HEIC across the Photos albums. Many programs can do that.
  2. retain the existing timestamp of each file, so screenshots keep the same temporal order in albums. This is the tricky part.
Any ideas?

use ShortCuts. The Convert-action allows to preserve the metadata easily when exporting/converting to e.g. JPEG.

Oh cool! Looks like improved Automator, now I have done a half of what I want.
So far I managed to build this pipeline:
IMG_3843.jpg

...
IMG_3844.jpg

Now it creates HEIC image at the last position in Recents album.
I tried to fetch creation date also, but have no idea how to set it for new image.

How to removeinitial image after conversion, and set same timestamp for new image?
