Hi All,

I am trying to do a simple thing on iphone simulator. I want to download an image from an url and display it. Please find my code below. I have modified the helloworld program. the image is not getting displayed. Please advise where i am going wrong. it is showing hello world as usual, and no image. If i copy paste the url in safari, it shows me the image.

drawRect: is a method of UIView, and it gets called automatically, but you're not using it in a UIView so it won't work. Use a UIImageView instead.

oops will my patience bear fruit ?

I kinda miffed with whether people knowing mac/iphone/objective C deliberately suppress information [subsequent knowledge] to themselves !

anyway,

i tried doing

- (id)initWithImage:(UIImage *)img;

basically where should have I put this line ? wont i get a fully functional uiimageview example somewhere ?

Not at all. Your question seems like it is better answered by reading the freely available developer documentation available from Apple.

Sounds like you could benefit from actually spending some time learning Objective-C rather than relying on tutorials.

I think this document will be of some help.
