I would like to ask you why images in Safari do look great but when I download them and open them via the Files app, they look greasy somehow.

The file has a 5000 x 3651 Pixel resolution and is 1.6 Megabyte big/small. I use an iPhone 7 with iOS 14.

I read that one has to wait a bit till the iPhone has processed the image and renders it correctly. But even when I open it out of the File app and wait a couple minutes nothing changes.

Alright, got you. Thank you @now i see it

For anyone else who might have this issue:
  1. Via the Files app you could also just make a PDF out of the image file if you don't want to copy it to the Photos app.
  2. If you want to copy it, just go to the image, tap the "Share" button and select "Copy Image" and that's it.
