OK here's my problem, somewhere along the way my image preferences have changed.
All the files that used to open with preview (jpg's, pdf's etc) now want to open with ColourSync and spotlight shows them as documents rather than images and therefore I can't show them as slideshows - the slideshow option for images in Mail has also disappeared.
I have tried to change them to open automatically under Preview but this changes the "type" to "Preview Document" and the preview icon is the standard blank page with the corner turned down.
I have repaired permissions many times, including from the OSX 10.4 install DVD, dumped the Preview, ColourSync and Finder preferences, deleted all the programs I have installed since I noticed the problem and still no change.
Anyone know how to fix this?
