So I do have Gmail set up via IMAP on iPad. But it seems to me that when my screen is OFF my email is delayed. When I do go into mail application I see mail application waking up and checking my email and I can see new messages arriving.

Occasionally when in Sleep mode (screen turned off), I hear sound that the new mail came in..

Is this a normal behavior? How do I prevent the sleep mode?

Tks

You don't want to prevent sleep mode of your iPad, it'll drain your battery.
I have GMAIL set to fetch every 30 minutes on my iPad ... I believe it is working.

I do have email set up to PUSH so how should that co-exist with Sleep mode?
